AEC NODAL CENTER:
AEC Nodal Centre functions as the National Technical
Manpower Information System (NTMIS) under the Institute of
Applied Manpower Research (IAMR). It conducts survey and
publish Annual Technical Manpower review (ATMR) report.

RURAL TECHNOLOGY CENTER:
It is a joint venture of the Assam Engineering College (A.E.C.)
and Assam Science Technology and Environment Council (A.S.T.E.C.)
for rural upliftment through research and development.
Rotary Sal Seed Dryer, Manual Driven Centrifugal pump, Multi
- utility garden vehicles are some of the recent projects
undertaken by the staff and the students.
ASSAM ENGINEERING COLLEGE BUILDING CENTER:
The Government of India and HUDCO (Housing & Urban
Development Corporation) launched a program in the year
1988 for "Lab to Land" technology transfer through
establishment of national network of Building Centers (Nirman
Kendras or Nirmithi Kendras). The cost effective, innovative
and affordable technology transfer cum training required at
grass root level are spread and applied through the building
centers are set up along the spread of the country in both
urban and rural areas.
The AEC Building Centre was established in the year 1996
with grant from HUDCO. Innovative technologies have been
applied in construction of the building and boundary walls.
R&D work has been taken up by by faculty and students of the
institution for developing innovative techniques and
production of materials. Training of Masons, Carpenters,
painters and electricians have been carried out regularly.
Supervision of construction work with the institution
campus is also taken up. In future the centre is with hope
of manufacturing building materials is large scale.
